Olson Sensei holds a fifth degree black belt in aikido (Godan) and a third
degree black belt in judo (Sandan). He began his martial arts training in 1964 at the age of
fifteen, studying the competitive art of Judo. After 15 years of competition and numerous national
and international championships to his credit, he found the gentle and effective art of Aikido more
to his liking. While teaching Aikido for more than 20 years in Bozeman and having nearly 40 years of
martial arts experience, Olson Sensei is also an
Assistant Professor of Physical Education in the College of Education,
Health and Human Development at Montana State University.
